More Details:
Latin Name: Mentha piperita
Common Names: Peppermint Leaf
We add a bit of honey or agave, and enjoy it hot or cold! Take nice deep breathes as you enjoy the strong peppermint aroma.
To Make:
Pour 8-12 oz of boiling water (212° F) over 1 tsp. of tea. Steep 5-7 minutes. Strain, add honey or agave to sweeten. Enjoy hot or cold! Alternatively use a tea infuser too steep.
Notes: For best results, use filtered water (water can really affect the taste of the tea if it is not filtered).
Use 1 tsp. for mild taste. Use 2 tsp. for more powerful taste. (We like two tsp. if you're using more then 8 oz of water!)
Warning: Use with caution in persons with gastroesophageal reflux or with a hiatal hernia, as peppermint may decrease esophageal sphincter pressure. Use with caution in persons with gastrointestinal ulcers or significant gastrointestinal inflammation. Consult with your healthcare provider prior to herbal use if you are pregnant, nursing, or have any medical condition.
